• Received a report on the collective bargaining agreement with the Minneapolis Police Officers Federation and heard a presentation by Minneapolis for a Better Police Contract, a group advocating for further reforms to the Minneapolis Police Department contract. No action was taken on the contract at this meeting, but a motion to move forward to council this cycle failed on a 3-3 vote.
• A public comment period on the police contract had 33 testifiers. Several council members commented on the importance of public input in this contract, but others noted the council can only vote yes or no on the contract with no modifications at this stage.
• Approved a $13 million bid for improvements at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The funds come from the Downtown Assets Fund outside of the general budget.
