- Approved a Commercial Property Development Fund loan of $700,000 to 2518 North Second Street LLC, as well as a $2 million loan from CPED’s General Fund Budget to North Group LLC for the financing and acquisition of a 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility at 415 Royalston Ave N.
- The committee also heard a legal appeal of the variances and site plan review of a new six story residential building with 64 units at 613 and 623 Van Buren St NE. They ultimately denied the appeal brought forth by a neighbor of the development site, while continuing to approve the rezoning of the property from R1A Multiple-Family District to R3 Multiple-Family District.
Approved nine items through a consent agenda including:
- The creation of Minneapolis Homes: Financing Contingency Fund.
- The acceptance of $2.5 million in ARPA funding from Hennepin County for the acquisition of an emergency shelter for persons experiencing homelessness.
- Setting a public hearing to consider an ordinance amending the definition of pedicab to include electric-assisted vehicles.
