Received and filed letters (from the City Council and the Mayor) requesting the postponement of charter amendments related to government structure, including which department head appointments should be subject to council confirmation.
Requested a joint meeting between the Charter Commission, the City Council, and the Mayor to be held in the second quarter of 2024.
Referred the amendments related to which department head appointments should be subject to council confirmation back to the Appointments Work Group.
Received updates on municipal elections in even-numbered years and referred the subject even-year elections back to the Even Year Elections Work Group.
- The commission has been studying this issue for years, but has been unable to move forward due to legal and technical complications. City Clerk Casey Carl reported that those issues may be resolved in the near future.
