• The board unanimously approved a directive for the County Administration to develop plans and recommendations for the closure of the HERC facility slated between 2028 and 2040. The County Administrator is expected to give a progress report at a board meeting in February 2024.
• The Board appreciated and commended two retiring County employees after 30 years of service: Michael Rossman (Chief Human Resources Officer) and Tom Trisko (Capital Budgeting Task Force member).
• The Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority approved the reassignments of Commissioner representation for various appointments effective immediately.
• At the Oct. 31 meeting, Commissioner Angela Conley will lead a discussion on maternal mortality and cardiovascular diseases, including the disproportionate impact on BIPOC communities.
