  • Received and filed a presentation on the state and federal legislative actions impacting Minneapolis.

  • There are state bills related to several city priorities:

    • bond funding for the Nicollet Avenue Bridge
    • ash tree removal compensation for homeowners
    • Transportation Network Company (TNC) pay
    • red light camera pilot
    • clarifying the Minnesota Environmental Rights Act (MERA) does not apply to Comprehensive Plans, like the 2040 Plan.
  • Federal legislative actions are focused on earmarks for the next budget. The city is submitting requests for:

    • upgrades to the fire dispatch system
    • suicide prevention barriers on the 10th Avenue Bridge
    • two programs for affordable homes
    • redevelopment of the Grain Belt beer property
    • ADA ramp replacement funds.
