- Received a closed session briefing on the lawsuit by the Minnesota Coalition on Government Information against the City of Minneapolis over coaching records in the Minneapolis Police Department. The suit alleges the practice allows police misconduct to be classified outside of discipline and remain hidden from the public.
- Approved the City Council’s budget priorities for the 2025-2026 city budget by a vote of 12-1, with Council Member Linea Palmisano voting no.
- At this point, these are recommendations to the Mayor, who will formally propose a budget in August. The council can amend that proposed budget later this year.
- Postponed a $13 million Minneapolis Convention Center remodeling bid to the July 18 council meeting by a vote of 8-5.

- The money would come from the Downtown Assets Fund, and not the general City budget, but some questions remain with the City Attorney’s office on allowable uses of the funds that come from sales tax revenue. CM Rainville asked for a briefing on how those concerns would impact this project after confirming with the City Attorney this would be an allowed expenditure.
