Unanimously approved a revision to the transportation rideshare worker protections ordinance, which pushed the implementation date from May 1 to July 1.
Rejected other proposed amendments to the ordinance, including:
- A motion by Council Member Palmisano to rescind the ordinance failed 3-10 (Palmisano, Vetaw, and Rainville voting yes)
- A motion by Council Member Koski to lower the rate to $1.21/mile, from $1.41/mile, failed on a 3-10 vote (Koski, Jenkins, Cashman voting yes).
Approved a $1.5 million 18-month contract with Wiley Reber Law PC to address the backlog of police misconduct investigations in the Office of Police Conduct Review (OPCR). City Attorney Krystyn Anderson confirmed this contract can be extended if additional services are needed to clear the backlog.
