• Approved variances and a site plan review for Dreamland on 38th, a new, four-story, 11,000-square-foot community center at 3800 3rd Ave. S. The staff report says it will be a cultural health and wellness facility, offering “research-based classes, coaching, consulting, and certifications that support people, families, communities, and organizations in developing culturally based solutions to real-world problems.”
• Approved renaming 16th Ave N between Irving Ave N to Knox Ave N to Deshaun Hill way, honoring the North High student who was fatally shot at the site in 2022.
• In a 4-2 vote, approved a permit for an emergency shelter and recuperative care facility at 1801 Nicollet Ave.
• Approved an amendment to the zoning code designed to streamline the conversion of nonresidential buildings to residential.
