The Goldendale City Council meets every 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month. If Monday is a holiday, however, the meeting is scheduled for the next day. The meeting time is 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 1103 South Columbus Avenue. The City establishes, from time to time, sub committees of the council to discuss more detailed information and make recommendations to the full council. The current established committees are the Budget Committee, Resource Committee, and the Ordinance Committee.
Generally, the role of the City Council is to adopt and enforce ordinances, to define the functions, powers, and duties of the city’s officers and employees, to adopt an annual budget and approve expenditures of city funds, to authorize the Mayor to execute certain agreements and to engage in economic development activities.
