Chair Kenya Franklin calls the meeting to order. Nominating Committee member Anthony D. Bryant is present. A quorum has been reached.

Chair Kenya Franklin begins the meeting with an update on the search for CPD’s next superintendent. The community commission announced 3 finalists for the top cop position.

Chair Franklin is inviting participants to help clean up blocks littered with trash. She also tells the community members to email her if they wanted CPD to show its presence on blocks with high crime.

Chair Franklin opens the floor to public comment. Community members want better communication with CPD and the 3rd District community organizer position to be filled.

Chair Franklin says CPD is giving away free steering wheel clubs for owners of Kias and Hondas. Those are the most stolen cars in the city.

Community members are inquiring about starting block clubs. Chair Franklin says she will direct contact community members that are interested.

Anthony D. Bryant states that within a week, ten cars were broken into on 61st and Eberhart. He says he has been in touch with Commander Watson.

Chair Franklin says that Commander Watson had told them that resources have been redirected to downtown and the Loop. Community members are saying that beat meetings are failing to inform the community of incidents like car break-ins.
