Landmark status for the Warehouse moves to City Council for vote.

Chairman Ramirez-Rosa(35) calls the meeting to order and begins the roll call.

We have a quorum. Approval of Rule 45 Minutes for the April and May meetings is approved.

On to deferred items. There are listed items on pages 11 & 23 that have been deferred.

The chairman moves on to the public commentary period. The two public speakers support the landmarking of the Warehouse, known as one of the birthplaces of house music. The historic nightclub is located at 206 South Jefferson Street.

The public comment section ends. The appointment of Mayor Brandon Johnson as a member of the Public Building Commission passes.

The introduction of the landmark designation of the Warehouse nightclub is before the committee.

A law firm now owns the Warehouse and plans to operate from the building.


Various issuance of permits for signs/signboards in the agenda has been passed.

The development plans for the Deeply Rooted Dance Company facility in Washington Park pass. The dance studio is due to open in 2024.
