@cledocumenters @216cpc The Police Policy Committee of CPC meets the third Wednesday of every month. This committee is chaired by Piet van Lier, a Senior Researcher on justice reform and education for @PolicyMattersOH.

@cledocumenters @216cpc @PolicyMattersOH Benito is updating the group on her work, including obtaining data on care-response for mental health crisis calls through MHRAC [Mental Health Response Advisory Committee].

@cledocumenters @216cpc @PolicyMattersOH Benito wants to create a panel to explain what mental health hospitalisation looks like. Commissioner Terri Wang is asking for details about the proposed panel guests. She wants to see people with a variety of clinical & life experiences with the subject.

@cledocumenters @216cpc @PolicyMattersOH Wang wants to see more diversity & more people with lived experience with mental health hospitalization on the panel.

@cledocumenters @216cpc @PolicyMattersOH Earley says it's the "best of both worlds" to have professionals with clinical experience on the panel as well & backs up the proposed panelists. Benito says Wang is welcome to bring her own suggested panelists.

@cledocumenters @216cpc @PolicyMattersOH The purpose of the panel is to explain "pink-slipping", or emergency hospitalization of persons in a mental health crisis. In the UK we called this "sectioning". . www-s3-live.kent.edu/s3fs-root/s3fs…
