Kyle Cooper, Police Board President asks the audience for a moment of silence for CPD officer Krystal Rivera.

Agenda item three, Report of review of minutes and recordings of past closed meetings A motion has been passed.

The agenda item, Police disciplinary cases, the board motions “Arbitrary polices be open to the public.” Cooper encourages officers to “elect to have their cases heard before the police board.” 43 cases have been tried since 2021, according to Cooper.

The next agenda item, Appeals by disqualified applicants to become a police officer A motion has been passed.

Yolanda Talley, CPD first deputy superintendent, acknowledges the work of CPD in keeping events, around the city, safe She also goes onto remember Officer Rivera, who died on June 5th, 2025.

LaKenya White, Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) Interim Chief Administrator offers condolences for the killing of Officer Rivera. She goes onto say that she understands how hard CPD officers work and the stress they endure.

The first public commenter, mentions a noise complaint that took place recently. She goes onto day that police officers would pass by and not address anything. “I am a person if I see something I say something,” she said.

The second public commenter, Melanie Hogan, described a situation. She mentioned that things will continue to take place when things keep on being allowed. “You victim blame the victim, what else is there to do,” Hogan says to the Board.”
