Cuyahoga County Council is the legislative body of Cuyahoga County government, made up of 11 elected representatives from across the county. All council meetings are open to the public and take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. The council makes policy decisions for the effective functioning of county government, and is a link between government agencies and citizens. It has legislative and taxing authority for the county, and is a co-equal branch of the county government with the executive branch. This form of government for Cuyahoga County was established in January 2011, replacing the three-member Board of County Commissioners, when the charter form of government adopted by voters went into effect.

Attending in person?

We add two hours of pay ($36) to the assignment. Complimentary parking for the public is available in the attached garage at 900 Prospect. A skywalk extends from the garage to provide additional entry to the Council Chambers from the 5th floor parking level of the garage. Visitors parking at the 900 Prospect Avenue Garage can use the Metropolis Parking app to receive parking validation from County Council. Downloading the Metropolis app on your smartphone and creating an account is one way to have parking validated at Council and Committee meetings. Attendees will be required to scan a QR code available only in the C. Ellen Connally Council Chambers. They will then be taken to their Metropolis app or the Metropolis web browser and will be asked to enter their license plate information for the parking to be validated.

Council Chambers is equipped with a hearing assistance system. If needed, please see the clerk to obtain a receiver.
